Dr. Haipeng Zhang (hzhang4@ccny.cuny.edu)

Dr. Haipeng Zhang is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the City College of New York. He received his Ph.D. degree and M.S. degree in Mechanical & Materials Engineering from the University of Nebraska‐Lincoln in 2022 and in 2018, respectively, and his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Kitami Institute of Technology, Japan in 2007. He also worked for the pump department at the Beijing Office (China) of the KUBOTA Corporation between 2009 to 2015.

Dr. Jorge Ahumada Lazo (jahumadalazo@ccny.cuny.edu)

Dr. Jorge Ahumada Lazo is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the City College of New York. He obtained his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2024. Prior to that, he earned a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from New Mexico State University in 2018 and 2015, respectively. His past research includes the characterization of supersonic swirling jets using PIV, and the study of evaporation behavior of sub-millimeter droplets of pure and nanofluids.

Xiaoxiao (Eva) Zhang (xzhang012@citymail.cuny.edu)

Xiaoxiao (Eva) is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. Her research is focused on the dynamic and thermal behaviors of colloidal droplet in freezing-based inkjet 3D printing processes.

Sohaib is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. His research is focused on the multi-state inter-phase transport processes and thermal energy transfer during interactions between plasma discharge and supercooled droplets.

Sandeep Kumar (skumar007@citymail.cuny.edu)

Sandeep is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. His research is focused on the plasma-assisted hydrogen production. Outside of the lab, he enjoys music and games.

Jooi Choi Albano (jalbano000@citymail.cuny.edu)

Jooi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. She is working on the flow-structure interactions of aerodynamically coupled oscillators and offshore wind farm aerodynamics.

Petr Lelikov (pleliko000@citymail.cuny.edu)

Petr is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the City College of New York. He received his B.E. and M.E. in Electrical Engineering from CCNY. He is working on plasma discharge characterization in interactions with droplets.

Pieter is pursuing a B.E. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. He is working on PIV measurements and deep-learning-based image preprocessing for PIV.

Tasfia is a junior pursuing a B.E. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. She is working on Shock Tube instrumentation and experiments.

Navdeep is a junior pursuing a B.E. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. He is working on Shock Tube instrumentation and experiments.

Reem is currently an undergraduate junior pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. She is working on wind tunnel instrumentation and experiments.

John Santana (jsantan014@citymail.cuny.edu)

John is a lower senior pursuing a B.E. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York and is interested in pursuing a minor in economics. He is working on a smoke-wire for flow visualization experiment. Additionally, he is also helping on Shock Tube instrumentation and experiments.

Nabidul is a senior pursing a B.E. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The City College of New York. He is working in the renewable energy sector. He is currently working on CarbonCLAIR.

Paula Picarello is a rising senior pursuing a major in Earth Systems Science and Environmental Engineering at The City College of New York. She is working on a prototype for carbon dioxide capture in collaboration with CiPASS.

Jacob Goldsmith (jgoldsm000@citymail.cuny.edu)

Jacob Goldsmith is a senior Mechanical Engineering student at the Grove School of Engineering, CUNY. He has experience in manufacturing engineering and CAD modeling, and will be contributing to the design and development of a thermal chamber as part of the lab’s research on freezing-based 3D printing techniques.

Andres Falcon (afalcon004@citymail.cuny.edu)

Andres Falcon is a Junior pursuing his bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at CCNY. I am interested in Aerospace and aeronautics design. At the ExAM-Flow Laboratory, I will be researching shock/plasma interactions. I also enjoy social dancing and sports such as mixed martial arts.
